Body Reaming Holes?
 

Okay I know how to cut out a body and ream the holes for the mounts but i've noticed some bodies in the rear have a longer rear hole location. So my question is how do you guys ream the rear hole if it requires and longer hole? Because I rear far to many holes in bodies that it looks like a hack job. If your not understanding I will take a picture of a body that already has the holes reamed

Those slots are there for the chassis to flex without damaging the body. There are a couple of ways I do it. One is to drill the proper sized hole at each end of the slot and use your hobby knife to connect them. The other is to drill a hole in one end, then use the drill bit like a router and pull it to the other end. Both work, it's up to you how you like to do it.

never thought of using a hobby knife to connect the two holes. I've always tried reaming 3 holes but it just messes up body pretty bad but thanks for the tip

If you try to use the drill bit like a router be aware it will want to go to the side. You have to be real careful to keep it going where you want.

Use a dremel with a tiny cylindrical grinding bit.

Use a Dremel tool and a 1/8" carbide bit to connect the holes.

Which body are you talking about? Even if an oval slot is marked, it doesn't mean an oval slot is required.

well I tried my best with reaming a 2 holes and trying to connect them with a hobby knife but still ended up with a hack job because the first hole I reamed wasn't dead center and my hobby knifes are kind of dull (wonder if you can use a knife sharper on them?) plus the front hole was way off I should have used my body post location things (they are like magnets) but its not a bad as my stock truggy body

Should have used a Dremel tool with a carbide bit. bit. No fuss just point and cut. slow and steady. You would have had more control than a hobby knife.

here are the two bodies one is a hack job (truggy orange stock body) the other is the buggy body I just missed centering the first hole I reamed

I will be upgrading the bodies to the Lead finger bodies if I can find a painter that also cuts out bodies as well (near future, kind of broke)

Save yourself the headache and buy the body reamer, it's worth it.
