Default Wheel Sponge?

Do you guys run with the hard sponge in the wheels? Like these... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXGH16

Noticable difference?

Depending on the type of tire, what kind of insert you use will make a huge difference. Unless you really have to have a Tamara insert for some reason, most racers will use something like this instead: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTU97&P=7

Tire inserts (Like the Yokomo one pictured above) are a vital part to rubber tire racing.

What car are you running, and what tires does it have? We can better help you find what you need if we first know what you already have.

If you are racing, then you may want to stick with Take off 27s mounted, since these are the tires, they hand out at the bigger race events...So you may want to spend time with them...

I just got back into the hobby (about about 12 years). Haven't had a car since I was a kid.

I picked up a simple TT-01 kit, and I'm still using the tires that came with it.

I'm not racing... except with my buddies in the parking lot. We're having a blast, though, and if I find a good spot out here I would consider some more organized racing.
