Newbie diagnostic help please?

Hi!
I have a 1/12 G wagen that's having problems, hoping someone on here can help.
When I turn it on it will run for a couple seconds forward or back and then stop.
It sometimes steers for a couple seconds and then stops.
My son has the same truck so I used his ESC, same thing.
I used his remote, same thing.
What else should I try?
Thank you!
AC

What does "make n model" mean?

I've checked the battery and tried my son's battery, same thing happens.

MN86S RTR. Same company that makes the MN90/MN99, I think they’re called MN Models.

I know it’s not the best RC out there but just a starter RC for me and my 4 year old.

So, you swapped the receivers around from your sons car and there was no change?

yes correct

it might be your motor. If it is shorting out, it will throw your ESC into safe mode and shut down. Did you try swapping out the motors?

I haven’t done that yet, sounds like that’s my next step? There’s some kind of circuitboard on the front of the motor, could it be something to do with that too?

OffRoadJunkie 12-07-2021 05:56 PM

Is your motor a brushless motor?

I thought you had switched all electronics if motor is same then id check,, anything that is still same in rc could be it

I don't know what that circuit board on the motor is if it's not the ESC. I would have to see a picture of it.
