Default Heading to my first flyaway race

Hey gang, if you recall I posted a thread last year about finally getting into racing. Well I've been running the novice class at my local track and making steady improvement (no wins yet but they'll come soon enough). Well I decided to take a significant step out of my comfort zone and signed up for the US Carpet Offroad Champs in Cleveland in December. It will be the first time I've traveled to a race and I'm looking for any advice you guys may have for me as I prepare my car and myself for this race. I'm entered in the Super Spec 2wd buggy class which will feature handout motors, tires, batteries and a spec gear ratio (none of which have been announced yet but I'm sure are coming)

Transporting fuel across state lines isn't an issue. Flying with it is.
