Hakko FX-888D, plus get a wide chisel tip and some nice Kester 63/37 solder.

I carry this one with me in my trackside equipment: Small soldering station

At home, I have the older version of this one on my bench: Benchtop soldering station

Weller and Hakko make good quality soldering equipment as well.

If you are looking for a bench top unit, you may want to look in to one that has the hot air tool incorporated. The hot air tool is nice if you are using heat shrink tubing.

I have a really good bench station but the one that i like and use the most i got from aliexpress for ~$12. soldering iron its got a digital display and has the wide flat tips you need for soldering motor wires etc. only issue i have had with it is being careful of the temp adjustment buttons as to not hit them while soldering because of placement of them while holding it but not a big deal. this is also compact enough to bring to the track which the stations are not.
