Update: Car has been identified as a Marui Galaxy RS

Hello all! New to the forum, and might as well be new to the hobby, I haven't messed with these things since the 80's. Could you all suggest some good resources on basics and on restoration? I am soon to be reunited with my childhood RC. The car was a gift from a friend of the family and I never knew much about it beyond driving it.

I would love to get it back to as close to new condition as possible and now that I'm old enough to appreciate it and have the room to enjoy it, drive the wheels off of it over and over again. I have 15 acres of wooded land and am already picturing a track being built soon 😅

I tried to upload a pic in the vintage forum to see if anyone could identify it, but it kept flagging the post for containing a url, so I'm not attaching the pic to this post. Anyways, please fogive my excessive newbishness haha

Upload the photo into your profile/gallery. Then people can see the photo and try to help you identify the RC. After a number of posts, you'll be able to post links and photos inside forum posts.

It looks exactly as it did the day I received it, with a few extra years and a lot of extra dust.
It surfaced during an excavation of my grandfather's shed.

The car is currently in California and hopefully shipping out soon. With that said, the pic in my profile is the only one available at the moment.

I thought it was a Kyosho Land Jump for a minute, but the cage looks different.
