futaba 3PK, novak XXL, Futaba MC230 esc
the MC230 is inexpensive and can handle a big block and a 6-cell 1850mah AA pack. plus it has reverse, very useful when running in the living room the 6-cell AA is heavy (compared to 2/3A's and 5-cell packs) but provides very long runtimes, even with the big block.

You don't need the most expensive radio, you don't even need FM radio, just any "working" radio you can find in your budget will work. Normally you would prefer a smaller receiver for this application.

baaa humbug.... They aren't too badly priced if you shop around, and you have a lot of direct access keys to get to things. Once you know the menu system, it's a piece of cake!
