Runtimes of a standard 10th scale nitro..
Just curious, how long can a 10th scale nitro with a .12 engine run before needing refueling? (running not too rich, 20% nitro)
And comparatively, what is the runtime of a pack of 3000mAh pack
with a modified 20 turn motor?
I'm wondering whether nitros have longer runtime, or battery powered ones... esp. since 3000mAh batteries are available.
TIA.

both will probably run abot 8 minutes, but the nitro can be refueled in a few seconds and keep on going

8 minutes?
I wish my Nitro Car would run for 8 minutes in a race.
6 minutes is probably the average for the 75cc fuel tank that is in almost all 1/10 scale Nitro Cars and Trucks.
(only 75cc's is ROAR/IFMAR legal)
Which means you better pit at about the 5 minute mark when your racing.
20% Nitro will give better mileage than 30% because of the richer needle setting needed for the 30%.

im with popsracer on this one if your getting much more than 6 min your running pretty lean or your not getting as much power from the engine as you could same with electric if you run more than 6 min you could gear up and go faster

you can keep refueling the nitro car till the reciever pack starts to die but the electric needs to stop cool down and have a new pack put in or charged
i ran my nitro almost an hour straight yesterday

depends on the track size for your runtime on nitro. On a 125X60 foot track we can go over 8 minutes with .12's on 20 or 30%. But the track is very technical and you only barely hit 2nd gear in the str8.

Thanks for all the feedback guys... looks like I'll be going with batteries for now........ coz I want more time practicing.... so probably I'll not need to go very fast.... but thanks for the feedback... mucho gracias.

What type of cars are you guys reffering to on 6 minutes a tank? With a XXXNT and a CVR .12, I can run 10 minutes flat at a medium setting around 220 degrees and a guy I race with has made 14:45 (no kidding) in a A Main simply because he had no competition and was taking it extremely easy just to see how far he could go. In those 14 minutes, he was 5 laps up in a 15 minute main and didn't refuel, died just before the wire and the LHS owner bumped his car across so he would not get a dnf. It was pretty amusing.

i was talking about touring car i know 1/10 truck guys seem to get really good mileage like at least 7 min

It really varies with different variables. I have several engines from a standard RB X12 to heavily tuned 12's
With my standard RB I can manage 10min runs on average and the best run being 15mins. I put it down to the weather here.
With the more heavily tuned engines we run about 8 mins regularly.
