Hobbyking Pirates-2 TC-8

Is this car any good at all? Not for racing - just something for blasting up and down the road in front of the house....

I still have an old 7th scale DM-1, but it's nitro. I guess there could be some way out there to convert it, but this HK car seems the path of less resistance....

Also, what would be a good ESC and motor from HK(EU or UK warehouses.. The recommended one they link is Int. WH only, so no option for me due to Customs etc..)? Thanks...

I'd like to know as well. I first saw that car in an ad on a website, of all places.

Ha ha... They put this in the "Rookie Zone"... :p

Aaahhhhh the racing mentality... I would have thought with the rise of 8th scale GT cars the RC car scene generally, and I guess the onroad scene specifically, would have become less uptight, not moreso.. :p

I was wondering why you were posting a question in the rookie zone.
This car looks interesting. The tires look like they'll have no grip at all. Do they have parts for it yet? At least it's built to dimensions that allow for a new body.

It's definitely not good looking. But as a mess-around road basher maybe it'd be good..

HK currently has a %20 off sale in Europe and the UK too...

I posted originally in the onroad electric section. But I guess the guys who get off on measuring fractions of mm of droop etc.. take offense at cars designed just for having fun...

In my experience, on-road guys are the biggest babies in RC.

A quickly body change will fix any issues one may have with the looks.
