Default Wrong+- or open

Hi I am trying to charge a
Venom Lipo 5000 20c 7.4 v cell battery to an onyx 225 ad/dc balancing charger and when I try to start the charging it reads wrong+- or open? I need to know what I am doing wrong.

Did you plug in the balance plug? Do you have your positive and negative leads connected correctly?

check batteries voltage.. also check to make sure polarity on battery and charger are correct..a onyx charger will give you this message when battery is under voltage as in under 7.65 volts..so if battery is lower than that do a single cell charge it up thru balance plug.

Make sure your connector is in good shape. Clean it with electronic spray especially it that battery came with those adapters

Agree with all the others. Also, sometimes your charge lead might be bad. I had a friend that had his charge lead go bad because a wire broke inside the insulation

Did the charger come with a manual?

Manual states:

"A battery is not connected to the output when charge is initiated. Make sure a good connection exists between the battery and charger and re-try.

The battery is connected backwards to the charger's output when charge is initiated.
