Exclamation warning : LRP Products

Warning to all Customers ?Be careful to buy LRP products in this store, as defective items don’t have warranty. I was obliged to pay US$ 78.20 for repair fee, repair parts and so on in a LRP QC2 esc witch burned at the second run in less than 30 days!!
I regret to say that an e-mail sent to LRP had no answer.

Default warning : LRP Products

Hi MSB,

Our Hong Kong distributor can only accept replacement
for UNUSED items. The same will be happened on all
on-line shops in Hong Kong. As mentioned in your
message, i hope LRP can help you to solve the quality
problem.

For any product purchased on rcMart, we can accept
replacement for the SAME item if it is proved to be defective
on acceptance. As that local distributer rejected to replace
any USED item and did not offer the warranty, what we can
do is just only provide our service to take care the repairing
stuff. The money you paid is not for us, but for the repairing
cost & shipping cost from our local distributer to the factory in
other country.

RCMART ---> HK DISTRIBUTOR---> FACTORY --->
FACTORY---> HK DISTRIBUTOR ---> RCMART ----> RETURN TO YOU

We also need to bear return S/H cost to return the item to you,
and some admin cost. Of course, we want every item we sold is
in perfect condition; but, some manufacturer's quality control
issue are beyond our control. Like your case, our girls in
customer services contacted the local distributor immediately
after received your e-mail & got back to you right away. Our
girls have done our best, i believe.

All Hong Kong on-line shops are facing the same problem, as
we get our products from the same distributor. But, I'm sure
most Hong Kong on-line shops will provide the simular solution
to buyers for used / damaged item.

B. Rgds,

So that's a warning to all customers at ALL web shops that carry LRP products. Not only at RCmart.

Default Unfortunate

Because of the nature of the hobby; warranties in this industry sor of suck.

The merchant is stuck in the middle. The manufacture is between a rock and a hard place.

It is next to impossible to distinguish between the product which failed because it was defective or one that fails because the buyer trashed it. It is easy to wire something backwards, its easy to gear a motor wrong and burn it up. When you are dealing with a product that is involved in high speed crashes as part of its normal use it is really tough to know what is warrantiable and what is not.

The problem is that the honest buyer, who did not abuse a product, who used in properly and cared for it properly often gets screwed.

I have dealt with RCMart on a couple minor issues and they have been very helpful. They are really one of the best places I have found for mini-z items and things like bearing kits.

LRP is something you should consider if NOVAK or TEKIN is not what you want, from what I heard, AE does not actually do the repair for the LRP, they have to send the LRP products back to Europe....and I heard the turn around time is 6 - 8 (not days, or weeks...) MONTHS....

It is not the HK online shop problem for sure, it is simply the LRP issue....even you are getting the ESC from Tower, you will ended up the same story from them....

I've got 2 soon to be 3 Quantum 2's Never had a bit of problem - sucks this happened to you. But you can't take one persons experience and use you to down a company that is making top notch rc parts. I'm sold on LRP quantum 2's and I won't run another esc.

I can see if was like 3 months old or worse but geez.Oh by the way I gave them the 39.50 directly a week ago still no speed control.31.00 was repair/replacement 8.50 shipping for ground or worse?Thumbs down with there lifetime warranty on box

It seems is not only one person experience.
After 3 weeks I bought mine, it burned. In that race in Leida, Spain I saw 11 (eleven) burned on saturday and 3 burned on sunday, one was mine.
At the Euros, last year in Staffanstorp, Sweden I saw lots of Q2 stop working.
One thing was for sure, that Q2 was my last LRP product.

Default novak all the way....

maybe not the best speedy but have excellent customer service in my personal expierence (over 10years) ...tekin my next choice again cos of aftersales service(maybe not during their closedown)....i got gm,futaba,ko propo as well as lrp speedy that would go straight in the bin when they break.
i believe LRP USA would only warrant and service esc bought/sold in US and Canada. And, i was also told that OZ distributor for LRP is on a powerball holiday and no where to be found.....
