Default Tree Rescue Suggestions?

Hey all...

My son was using my quadcopter yesterday and managed to get it stuck in a tree.. It took me a while to convince him that i am not fussed about it as he got quite upset thinking he killed our new toy.

So..

I am going to try a tennis ball on the end of a 12 foot beach fishing rod and try and snag the branch it is in and then shake the branch and hope it falls out.

My drama is there is a big possibility that is falls into the river... We live and learn.

Another question though... The battery did fall out so there is no electricity supply.. so if it did fall in the river, can i dry it out and the onboard electronics still be ok?????

got it...

Tried the tennis ball on the fishing rod..
Threaded a fishing line through the tennis ball and tied it to the 12' beach fishing rod.
Was making the distance but i had a river and thick scrub all around

Kept snagging and breaking the line...
got close but 3hrs of me mucking about and 5 tennis balls later...

A crazy mate of mine came round and says.. i go up the tree n get it.. so i grabbed a beer and watched.

LOL.. he climbed up as far as he could with the fishing rod... then poked at it..

Got it down, and him safely.. LMFAO! Beers all round.. my shout!

Good to hear you got it back. The last plane I got stuck in a tree, I had to cut the tree down to get it back. LOL managed to cut the tree down and when it dropped, the plane was still stuck on a branch from a tree right next to the one I dropped. Ugh... Did the fishing rod deal for 2hrs before it finally dropped.
