It's all I can do to keep myself from getting that--conceptually it seems really cool, but it's an awful lot of chedda for such little flight time and predominantly indoor flying....

There is that, but the non-FPV one flies really well outside, so the FPV one might be able to handle it outside too.

I have the fpv nano and its great for indoor flight. I work at the local hobby store so its a blast to race through the aisles after hours. It can be flown outside but it seems to be slow compared to the surroundings. Makes me want to build a 250 sized quad now.

Put it in "agility" mode and it can easily fly in the wind. The cool part I can hover it into the wind and keep it there. It leans into the wind and holds it good. Stability mode won't keep it leaning into the wind.

I realize now that when in agility mode, you have to make every correction or counter move. It will just keep going in the direction you tell it too until you change it's direction. If that makes any sense? I set the expo to 40% on all the channels and it flies much easier in agility. Matter of fact, now that I understand whats going on, I can fly it as good in agility as I can in stability! It's a bit stressful but fun none the less.
What radio were you using? The expo feature is appealing to me.

DX6i but any radio with d/r or expo should work as long as it's dsmx/dsm2. The expo makes a huge difference. It really calms it down and allows you to maintain control when flying in agility mode. Otherwise it's so twitchy to control without, that it's extremely hard to fly in agility. You will constantly be counter steering and fighting with it to stay up.

Thanks for responding so quick. I was slow checking back. As it turns out I have purchased the DX6i radio also. The problem I am having is that the quad keeps switching back and forth between agility mode and stability mode. It seems to be related to throttle position.

Following are the D/R EXPO settings I currently set

AILE, ELEV & RUDD are all set at 1 100% + 40%

AILE, ELEV & RUDD are all set at 0 70% INH

Any thoughts or suggestions

Double check the settings they recommend for the radio outside of the dr/expo settings. Then try re-binding. After that, I'm not sure what to say.

Just bought my 10yr old one of these to learn on.

Jumped on YouTube to help set up for the DX6i.. Had the thing running and hovering exactly still in only minutes.

Gone through 2 batteries already.. LOL
Bought a pack of 4 with a usb charger that charges them all.

They are great little machines. Still running in SAFE mode.

That is a good idea. This one is a good choice too for his friends and/or you:

+ YouTube Video
