A little late reply for this old thread but I would suggest Heli as well. I have tried flying both and flying helis are more complex than fixed wing AC. That's why I chose to stick with helis first. If you start flying with helis and got used to its orientation, going for fixed wing would be easier.

Flying quad/multi-rotors is a different story. Requires very little skill in there as most quads are very stable and auto-corrects it's hovering.
