Thanks for the nice and useful resume. Have been practicing as a glider pilot for a while which makes it somehow easier to handle (flying) RCs but some things I never thought about have been cleared.

I think just buy and fly this is total beginning practical is everything......

My nitro heli is just about ready to fly. Looking for popular flying field for helicopters near or by Monroe michigan. Would like an experienced pilot to look over my helicopter before she flies.

NIce info. I flew some gliders years ago with a friend and dont know much but you know your stuff.Pretty much everytime i crashed i noticed i always panicked but it really came down to the fundamentals you outline here.Only the panic caused me to forget those fundamentals when i should have been calm and paying attention. LOL It was like my brain was saying oh know what do i do now then ofcourse id way overcorrect(or overcontrol the plane) in the totally wrong direction(dive bomb into the ground). I am thinking of getting into planes alittle with a trainer(when i have the cash).Either way i will be consulting your post, Thank you! for your time. Currently learning to fly helis and thinking about it most if not all of this can be applied to helis.

all of those things are very important. For new heli and quad pilots, all the above still aply, but you dont just throw your throttle stick to max, ease it up and you will watch your craft slowly rise and then hold the stick steady when you reach your desired altitude.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I could use some help with a Proto X heli. I can't get it trimmed correctly. Now it's so out of whack it's not usable. I was wondering if there is an adjusment to the heli I could make or if there is a "reset" to the trim.

Great info. I do pretty good on a cpu trainer. I can run my rc truck on a track very well and fly a quad copter ok but so far I've crashed two planes. The second one was a 15 second flight with a nose first crash and battery fire. Talk about crash and burn! Think the wind is my major problem. 5 to 10 mph most days where I live. Not gonna give up.

Would also recommend any new pilot build their first planes from dollar tree foam board. It teaches you a lot about how to build and repair plus if you wreck hard your only out about $5 dollars in materials. Check out Flite Test or Experimental Airlines on you tube for plane ideas/plans.
