Talking TREX 450 SE V2

Getting my T-rex finally this weekend can't wait. Being flying my cx2 for awhile and am ready to step up. I will also be getting a DX7 with it. Here R my q's

Should there be some getting use to or will i be able to hover and fly easier since I've been flying the cx2?

Are the servos that come with the DX 7 good or just update them now w/ something better. (Usally update the servos in all my cars and trucks.)

R there anything that I should be aware of when i build it something that I can easily overlook, since this will be my first heli that I am building. Been racing cars and trucks for 6-7 yrs. now.

Not sure of the size servo that comes with the DX7, I think they may be too big.
I use Hitec HS56HB servos on the head, and a JR DS281 on the tail. Those should be just fine for learning. Hitec has a HS65MG that is a lot tougher, You may want to try them... cost more tho.
Your time spent on the CX will help you with orientation, other than that it won't be much help.
The trex 450 is easy to fly but you will still need to start slow. Look up " Radds Lessons" he has a real good beginers program that is easy to follow
Most important is your set up, If you start with a proper set up then you won't be fighting a wandering head.
See if there is someone in your area that has built and flown heli's, you will learn a ton.
Good Luck

Servo's that come with DX7 are too big. Go for the Hitec HS65MG as they are the best and will save you time and money replacing gears as plastic will break.

Also make sure you buy a good gyro (Logitech LTG2100 or the Futaba GY401)and also a good tail servo.

Just check all the screws and use loctite and you should be sweet. Try to download the Finless setup vids in Helifreak as it will make is all easier.

good tail servo to pair up with the 401 gyro would be the 9650 from futaba. thats what we are selling to 99% of the guys around here and they LOVE it..especially for the price.

Ive got a futaba GY401 and a S3154 (grams) combo which weighs pretty much less than the S9650 (27 grams). both digital.

I fried a 3154 servo and never really liked it when it was working. I have read alot of people posting negative things about it in other forums and reviews but still got one to try so I can tell you get a 9650 and save you money.

It depends on what DX7 you purchased. I got the DX7 MicroLite and it came with (3)S285 servos. These will fit in the 450 but they have plastic gears and will probably not survive a crash. I kept them as spares for my Blade CP Pro. I am running the Hitec HS65MG servos in the head and a Futaba 9650 in the tail. This combo has worked out well for me. I am using the Align gyro (which isn't that bad but plan on upgrading to a Futaba 401.
Let's see some pics of that V2 !!

So how's the Rex comming along.... I just sold all my heli.'s and got back into car's...but miss my heli.'s...I'll be getting a few more again soon.. OH ya ... I ran the HS-65hb's in mine with a 2100T and 9650 tail servo and never had a prob. no matter how I threw the bird around... I've never tried the JR servo's but they sound pretty good + their digital's.... I know several companies are comming out with micro dig. servo's... The Rex is going to be quite different then the CX .. alot more reactive and sinsitive to input's.... Just stock up on some spare's... Good luck. Also if you have any ? feel free to pm me or just post and I'll try to answer them as best I can.
