Default New to rc airplanes

Hi, I am considering getting into rc airplanes. I've been running nitro rc cars for years, but with local track closures, I am thinking of switching to rc airplanes. I am particularly interested in a gas plane, nothing fancy. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I'd suggest starting with a high wing foam trainer. Don't go out and spend a lot of money on a balsa gas plane. You need to learn how to fly first.

I'd suggest playing around with a sim program to get use to the stick movements. Then contact a local club and see if they can buddy box you on a plane. (2 controlers, 1 plane)
