Traxxas Spartan Jet Boat build
Figured I'd share with this forum my Jet Spartan Build.
So starting with a hull and hatch for $20 and I picked up a piece of carbon fiber and have made the mount for the jet drive. I plan to use a castle 2400kv, 120a marine esc (not set in stone on this), Mickie Beez 30mm Jet drive which is better than any other currently made, 2s spc 8200mah in series and have a dual water pickup for cooling. Its all fairly straightforward compared to prop boats which is nice considering this will be my first hobby grade rc boat. I plan to run it in rapids and the local pond. Im currently waiting on the jet drive to come in before i move onto mount the motor and getting the esc and battery. Here's some pics:

It looks like a great way to turn a pos boat into something decent. I've never seen a jet drive in action.

Thanks guys! As far as I know, I'm only the second documented person to do this mod. I'll get the video of the first guy who inspired me but for now, small update! Test fit of the jet intake:
Here's the video of the first guy. I could never find his build no matter how many hours I searched

The villain would've been ideal in size and shape for the jetdrive but there weren't any hulls available at the time for a decnt price so went the Spartan route. Alright little update time:
Still gotta build the turning bucket and glue in the unit. Only one bolt is currently holding it in.

More update time!
I am so glad I decided to screw the jet drive in rather than epoxy it in! I think the 2075 will be plenty of servo for now but I may get a hitec mg servo since I have a aluminum 24t servo horn I have yet to use. That depends what's on the www. I'll see if I can get a CF servo mount as well
Sealing and seal testing will be done Friday night as school is still primary

I was told by MickieBeez that it cavitates around 28k rpm for his jet sprint boat but with my modification it will probably cavitate at less rpm. I'm happy if it tops out at 25 though. It wasn't meant to be a speed demon. I'll put the jet drive in a smaller boat like a villain or something similar in size to get speed later.
