Default Boat esc

Just bought an Aquacraft Wildcat EP. Hooked up the battery and the esc started smoking. I'm getting a replacement esc.
I'm looking at getting a Seaking esc. Don't know wether to get the 25 or 35amp.
Will be running 3s or possibly 2s. Stock esc rated for 3s
Already have program card
Looking at upgrading motor and prop also.
Thanks for any help

Pretty sure you should stick around 50-60 amps if you are running 3s in that boat; I've heard of people running a 35a in it but might as well go a little bigger.

For high speed runs on 3s 3000kv is mighty quick, or 2000kv for 4s.

What would be a good up grade motor to buy.
Looking at the blue cans on Ebay and also the Seaking motors.
Looking for something around 3000kv
Also may upgrade prop if needed
Thanks for any help

I would vist offshore electrics and check out the leapord motors. I would look into going around 1800 to 2000 kv and 4s. Then start playing with props.
