Default CF TFL Popeye Hydro

Received my Popeye hydro from Ampeaterracing last week. This is my second boat build, so I am hoping to yield a higher quality build this time. It's not going to be a super quick build so just bare with me as I post updates. I have everything I need besides my turn fin at this point. Going to be running the typical 1515 with seaking180, (I might go with a swordfish 220 not sure yet), airtronics receiver and servo, and speedmaster rear hardware.

I got my main inlay done today. Using west systems 105 and 209. I definently did a better inlay job this time using west systems, and KBB's tutorial.

It kinda bothers me that I can see light through the sides of the hull, and the sponsons. Only question I have is should I put a layer down the sides of the hull, and sponsons as well? I'd appreciate some opinions.

On to some pics

Yes it's double the price of the fiberglass hull. He only ordered 4 of them, so I'm sure they went fast. You can find an artr version on kintecracing.

Is this boat NAMBA legal? It does not have a straight transom, there is a lip that protruds just for the hardware mounting area. I thought the transoms had to be straight. I know it is a small looking lip but not sure about it.

I'm just a sport boater so it really doesn't matter to me personally. But from what I have read, it is legal for p-sport hydro.

I looked at your build thread on ose, doing very nice work. How and what did you use to mount the threaded inserts for hatch hold downs?

Thanks. I used 1/4-20 weld nuts, with short pilot height so they wouldn't protrude through the lip. They're just epoxied to the underside of the lip.
