there should be a screw down inside that you have to unscrew, then you can just twist it off.install a piston stop ,so you can with a wrench twist the collet off ,once the screw is out.or pull the jug and brace the crank to stop it from spinning so you can get it off.

I would personally not use a clutch.

Geez RRR, don't let the Dock boys see this, they'll be having kittens!
I would have just put a wrench on the square drive then broke the bolt loose.
They had a conniption when I told them how to remove a regular collet without spending insane money on a fancy assed tool.

Like he said, forget about a clutch, just watch yourself and others around a spinning prop.

Did you remove the Allen bolt down inside of the collet? Collets will stick the that Allen bolt presses the collet against a tapered surface. I haven't had to deal with square drives before so I don't know the trick to pop off the collet if you got the bolt out.
A crude way that I can think of off-hand would be to get a long 5mm Allen or regular bolt, put the engine in a vise and clamp it down at the collet, thread the bolt in and give it a few taps with a hammer until it pops loose.

ron i posted this on my other thread but i really would like your input so i want to nake sure you see it what are your thoughts

I am going to covert this hull from a strut/dual rudder drive by Marine Specialties to a stinger for surface drive and still use the rudders just remove the strut which leads me to two questions>? the stinger and prop should ride in front of the leading edge correct? or trailing behind.? secondly from the collet do i run a brass shaft tube through a T-bar along the buttom of the hull to the transom were it will meet the stinger and run my flex shaft through the brass?
