Default Help please very stange problem

I sold my Stiletto local and he wanted it cheap , so I put the sv27 motor/ESC combo I had in it. Here's the weird part. While testing it I found that the steering cable gets hot . I mean real hot . I have no clue here. It doesn't have power to it or anything. Any pros with an idea ? All connector's now have heatshrink on them. Nothing is loose. Everything seems to work fine.

Default electrical

battery positive has got to be touching one of the steering cables.
Put some shrink tube over the positive terminals on your deans connectors.

I think I figured it out. The original motor used 3x8 screws they must have touched a winding . I replaced them with 3x5 and it seems to have fixed it.

I was going to mention is this is the esc you got off me don't forget it doesn't have a BEC which could be a concern.

It has a bec just that it's made for 2 batteries not 1 maybe that's why they put a castle bec in it ? Since it was running a single 2s or 3s .
