Default e conversion on speed 2

I am wanting to do an electric brushless conversion to my aquacraft speed 2.

Just looking for some advice on whats out there for this conversion. Wanting to keep it an outboard setup.

I have seen the e kits that use the stock lower outdrive from my os engine that is currently on the boat. Anyone ever use this setup?

Any balance setup advice would be good. ie battery location?

All advice welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Default electric conversion

I have a older Prather Lapcat 2 that I converted to brushless.. I used the O.S out drive with the 5mm O.S motor mount. 2 3s lipos fit perfect in the electronic box with good weight distribution.. All my running gear is on ebay for sale if you want to see the set up.( Complete O.S Brushless OutBoard Drive System for R/C Boat...) <title of ad. there is a pic of my boat in the posting

Pretty sure I seen your listing on the bay lol. Had spartan electronics that came with the drive right? That is actually got me searching into doing the conversion. Interested in parting with just the converted drive unit?

Default conversion

if it doesnt sell I might try it on a rigger? you can get the os outdrive new from offshoreelectrics for around $150.00 and the motor mount for around $30.00. make sure you get the shorter mount,,, the taller one is for the nitro...

Thanks for the info. Wish I could just buy your entire setup. Good deal for what all you have just cant spend that much on it. I have the os engine on the boat now so I dont need the drive part I dont guess just the adapter.

Do some research on how people have modified the stock out drive and only had to buy the mount.. keep my info, if It doesnt sell maybe I will put it for trades or something..
Have a good one!

I converted the VS1 to brushless using an O.S. leg.
It uses a Hyperformance adapter from Kintecracing. It includes the shaft, adapter, and coupler.
I'm running an Aquacraft UL-1 motor and a Turnigy 120amp esc.
There is another adapter available from Kris Flynn in Aus. he's on the InternationalWaters and Offshoreelectrics forums. There are a few tunnel builds on Offshoreelectrics lots of info there.
Here's a link to my build if it helps.

Aquacraft UL1 electronics with OS lower on 4S using a M445 prop seems to be a real good combination for the 20 size tunnels. This will also be legal for competition in IMPBA events as well if you have plans for competitive racing. FE more popular in NAMBA but starting to really take off with the IMPBA as well. Good luck.
