Lots of HELP NEEDED with Thunder Tiger

Help me I'm a newbee to boating.
Im running a Thunder Tiger OBL mono Hull 40" with issues. In short I started with a Hobby wing 180A ESC and 3750 KV motor spinning a Prather 225. It was fast for 90 sec followed by a long swim and a small fire. The Esc melted all the way down. So I replaced the ESC with another 180A Esc and changed the motor to a 2700KV but the wires on the motor side were getting so hot it was melting the soder at the bullets. Now the wires coming off the ESC are 10G and 12G on the motor so I don't know if that was the issue.
So I once again changed the motor to a castle MM 2200kv, and it runs well but I think there is a lot more speed in there some were. She will plan fairly well, once the boat takes a set I can hear the RPM's get pulled down. After 5-6 of running on 6S the ESC goes into thermal protection. So what do I need to do. Right now Im running a Octura 1450 6s 180A Esc and 2200 KV. I have a 3750KV 2700KV and 2000Kv that I can still use.
Anybody have the right combination for me?
I'm all ears.

Most of your heat is going to be caused from excessive amp draw.
To lower amp draw you need to move to a smaller prop.

And hopefully you didnt join RCtech for specific boat help.
If your looking for boat help and nothing but boat help, specifically electric boat help, www.offshoreelectrics.com

can I go to a small prop and still maintain speed if not get a little more?

40 foot hull? I think that's your problem right there!

what are the specs of your battery, that might be part of the problem.

Water cooling the ESC might help as well.

hi there

Since your running 6s all the time, none of your motors can handle your 40" boat. I might suggest go for leopard 5692 1340kv, it will handle with ease and fast. Even the motor is super torque and thats what your boat need. Hope it helps

can anyone tell me how much timing I can put into the leopard 3674
