finally got some glue and started this lil' buggy.
1st step. Laminate some pieces. Make opposite sides and the rear of the boat. Also a nose piece to stiffen the middle front of the hull. I think it's a hull. Lol.
glued the pieces and sat soup cans stacked on top for weight.

Sanded the edges with wet 400 paper. What I had.
next is to assemble some skeleton of the hull. I let the glue sit over night well I sleep.

It was just putting along in the pic. Wide open it got a little unstable. Was a fun little boat, though.

Home from work. Shaped the nose beam. Glue prep for the left skin of the hull. Pics of it all weighted down. Trying to remove as much gappage as possible. Shimed a spot too with excess material from the wood under one soup/veggie can to remove the gap in that spot.

well we're on day 3 or 4 of this build and I need to buy clamps. Lol
Go figure. Ive also decided to coat the boat in automotive clear coat or possibly marine depending on the cost.

Suggestion... run a bead of glue on all the seams on the inside of the hull. A little extra strength won't hurt.

Yup! As soon as I get these skins on the hull. Gonna reinforce the transoms and run beads of glue around all joints. I did get some epoxy. May try and water it down with alcohol and test it on some scrap remnants to see how it turns out and if I'll need the clear coat 2 part.

Used the bar clamp to push the two skins together as I secured the skins with the wood clamps.
prob the 4th step or so getting around the front curve of the boat.

not much to report here. I've reinforced the transoms. I cut the 2 motor support stringers short and had to clamp the rear trasom to fit.
currently I need to sand down the bead of glue on the bottom and make more flush. Get some foam or floating expansion foam. Idk. Not quite sure yet.
I did get some clear epoxy I'm gonna water down with alcohol and clear coat with. Gonna test on some excess prior.

After all that. I'll be on to electronics. Fitting the servo and linkage to the rudder. Installing and builing rudder.
than the top deck and motor mount. Motor mount will wait to be fixed in place as I need the airplane outrunner and prop to measure distance from rudder to prop.
where I'm at with this lil swamp buggy!
