Default Traxxas Spartan - Let the mods begin

I just picked up a brand new Spartan. I can see this is going to be one that I dump a ton of money into.....

I was thinking its about boat duying time here in Kansas I like the price drop when the cold sets in. And heck if you can't run it for six months you cant brake it either. My local hobby shop posted this yesterday.

Rich says he want to make a deal with YOU on this beautiful Traxxas Spartan we just got today!! Come on in, check it out, and letís make a deal!!!

The allure of a deal is hard to pass up! You might score a great deal.

I wish my Spartan was one of the more traditional colors and not the crazy theme it has, but I'm guessing it's not that important. I was checking out the Hot Racing website and looking at all of the upgrades they have available. It's cold already here in Virginia, so doing upgrades this winter will keep me occupied.

I have yet to open mine, maybe I should do that this evening. I got a great deal on this new Spartan, but if I were to buy one, I would definitely look to buy a self righting boat of about the same size. I have a feeling like my fat butt will not enjoy jumping in a rubber raft and trying to retrieve this thing. At around 40+mph, I can be sure it will be upside down quite often.

I bet you might be able to go in there and beat him up a bit more on it, being that it is used. That's a $100 off a new one, but if it's super clean, I bet he could sell it lower. Like you said, boats aren't flying off the shelf this time of year.

Ah man that hurts I'm still claiming to be a manly man with manly ways as long as my wife lets me. You know the wedding vows Love Honor and Obey in modern days trans late to LOVE HONOR OR PAY. i'm not relay that cynical just have a friend at work getting a wicked divorce so been hearing the bad side lately.

Well still no boat I have stopped by three times and he is stuck at $300. I keep offering him $250 because its used. Its nice and used very little, but I keep seeing gas boats for sale and now I'm thinking I might try one of those instead.

I've since sold my Spartan on eBay. I decided that I wanted a boat of similar size, but with the self-righting feature.

I am now looking at a couple of options. I just don't want to spend my summer on a raft trying to retrieve a boat. I like to run wide open, so self-righting is a must for me.

Well I stopped by Dee and Mee hobbies and hit my old buddy Rich with a $250 offer on the boat again. He started laughing and told me he priced it to a guy the day before at $325 and the guy told him if you'll go $315 he would take it. So boat is sold and Rich will be giving me a hard time for a while.
