Blackjack 55 tuning help

Just picked up a blackjack 55 tuned it in the garage while running water through the tubes and a
had it running great through all throttle ranges.... or so I thought. Got it to my local spot on the Colorado river and boat would idle but low to mid transition would burble and try to die and w.o.t from a stand still would just kill it. Bring it back home and runs great on the bench. I know load has a little to do with it but anything off idle while prop is in the water and it's a no go. Clutch is working great, tried adjusting low and high speed needles up and down h/s 1/8 turn for every 1/4 On the low speed but more fuel made it worse and less fuel from where i had it set it wouldn't even start unless i juiced the primer several times. Pulling my hair out.

With gas and nitro boats, what works on the bench will not work on the water. Start very rich. As long as it is rich on the water the engine should not die (to a reasonable point). This will allow you to drive it back in instead of having to retrieve it some other way. Bring it in, lean it out 1/8 of a turn each tine until you start to kill it again, then richen it up.

Gas boat needle setting 1 turn H 2 turn L as a starting point then fine tune it from there down to 1 3/8 H —1 5/8 L. The magic # is 3 .. pipe length 12 1/2 to 13 1/2

What do you guys think this boat is worth in perfect condition

These type of boats (weedeater engine monos) go for $200-$300 around here. Even a NIB one a person would be lucky to get $300.

I'm thinking of buy one, these seem like good boats.
