3660 or Pro4 HD

I need to buy a new motor for my tekno sct410. My hobbywing 3656 blowed up, it was well worn. Is the hw 3660sd g2 4300kv a 550 motor? Is it comparable to the tekin pro4 hd 4300kv? Amain has the 3660 listed under 540 and the pro4hd under 550. I do see the dimensions are the same. Btw i also see a 3660sl now. Can anyone tell me what the difference is in that from the sd?

Having used one in my SCTE I have to say the 3660 g2 is phenomenal. It is just as good or better than the Pro4 I had in my sct410.1. Can't beat that price either

Thanks. I do like the hobbywing product I have in others including the sct pro esc in this one, Im already setup for it w program box and software loaded, but mainly price! I also discovered the Maclan 4150kv that looks good too. The one amain review for that Maclan describes it between the HW 3656 (more torque) and Tekin (better feel) so maybe the 3660 bridges, or betters, that gap too.

Yes the 3660sd g2 4300kv is a direct competitor for the pro 4 hd. It is a 550 motor. The 3660 stands for 36 diameter and 60 length, hence 3660sd. Sd stands for sensored. The 3660sl is same dimensions but sensorless, hence the sl.

Out of the three, I would definitely go with either the Maclan or the Hobbywing. The Hobbywing may still be my pick since it's a little heavier duty. But I also know that Maclan motor has been doing VERY well in short course trucks.

I loved my pro 4 hd but I would go hobbywing if I were you.

Power, durability, and a nice price tag.

I received and installed my new HW 3660sd 4300 for this weekends race. It was noticeably stronger than the old 3656. Im very happy with it. The price was a big factor. I had a chance to buy a used Tekin pro4 hd 4300 locally for $80, but I prefer buying new especially for motors when I can. It is hard to tell the state of the magnets and windings with used.

Yeah. I will buy used if I know the seller and the price is right. But I usually buy new because there is a comfort in buying new. It is a great motor you will be pleased with it. Cheers
