At the end a interesting test versus mylaps (myRCm) ! Just done by myself : |
When I ordered, I was given option to wait for the new waterproof transponder. Looks like right choice |

I watched a few of the videos and it looked like you were having some issues with it tracking all the laps. Did you manage to resolve that?

Driving on wet track track it is ok as only the transponder may be be exposed to lots of water |

Yes. The factory bodies on the 4Tec and Kyosho were blocking the signal. Both are thick compared to most tourng car or aftermarket buggy bodies. Since moving the transponder to the outside body. I’ve not missed any laps. A light painted body or leaving a clear spot for transponder is best bet. If/when I get to St.Charles. You are welcome to check it out. We're currently designing some holder to easily install the transponder on the cars. Some are already available on 1:10 buggy and few 1:8th buggy Lilke this one for B6.1 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...6b85a6691e.jpg LapMonitor transponder holder for B6.1 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...88edb31d4f.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...a559d1bdc3.jpg A very simple way to install the transponder on most 4WD brushless 1:10th and 1:8th scale is to install it on top of central diff https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...26b479739d.png https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...6a7836a37c.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...2c61e40210.jpg |
interested in this, how has it been when using it in offroad dirt conditions?
IN general what exactly happens if two cars cross side by side? |

Most races of the champioship are on dirt track If your car is covered with mud it won't work but dust is ok |

Wonder how much this is gonna be. This is awesome

Just ordered one of these systems for the backyard track. Seems like a great deal compared to some of the other competitors out there, complete systems costs as much as the mylaps transponder... Anyone else still using theirs?

Is that a video of a track you threw together? |

Billy,
Is that a video of a track you threw together? I’ve used the LapMonitor for on road, MiniZ and this off road attempt. |

That’s the only “dirt spot” I’ve really got. I started cleaning it a few years ago. Back in spring when I wasn’t working I got it down to actual dirt. Unfortunately when it rains the area floods bad. Maybe this spring I’ll get back to it.
I’ve used the LapMonitor for on road, MiniZ and this off road attempt. I get it! You gotta do what you can do with the space you have. However, the City Streets Division called and they want their signs back. |
What kind of bluetooth range are people getting? Mine seems to lose connection and end the session at ~18 feet.
Grey ABS sheets with velcro are a great way to go for transponder mounting. You can cut and bend the ABS to shape for a mounting bracket and then attach to the vehicle and transponder with velcro. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...e1f199a8d3.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...d0b23d3be6.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...f6599054a0.jpg |

Sorry to dig up such an old post, but I just recently got the Lap Monitor here and I cannot figure out how to set a Race by a number of laps rather than time.
Am I just crazy, or is the only option just guessing a random time and letting it run? |

It is by time only. The previous post I was thinking off was trying to do 1 minute races.

Wow, what a let down this thing as been. I honestly cannot believe a device exists to tracks laps but does not have an option to race by a set number of laps.
