Default Questions about 1/10 4wd ESC

Whats going on fellas. So I am deciding on a new Esc for my 22-4. After research and obvious discussion I have narrowed down to either the SMC-170 2s or a used Tekin rsx. The tekin would be purchased online so slight-moderate risk? Any suggestions

I'm running the Hobbywing Xerun 120a 3.1 on my 22-4 and like it a lot. Runs cool and like all the adjustments I can make.

I drive a losi 22-4(not 22 4.0) with an Orion Ultimate Stock 13.5. I am driving on a relatively fast clay indoor track with some good jumps thrown in the mix of things too. As for now this is the main class I am going to be racing. What ESC's do yall recommend

As of now I am thinking maybe a Hobbywing Xerun 120a 3.1 and I think the ultimate choice would be a Tekin RSX. But please I am open to all suggestions.
ESC's are not the usual cause of brown-outs. It usually comes down to Spektrum radio gear or savox (power hungry) servos. All ESC's mentioned are all good. Comes down to money.

The SMC Rf-170 is an excellent bang for your buck ESC. Can be used for any 1/10 class imo.

The 1s version is for Any class that requires 1s lipo. You want the 2s version for your 4wd buggy

I'm having good results with the HobbyWing Justock in my Schumacher K2 for the 13.5T Super Stock class. My car is one of the fastest with this setup at my local club.

Well you always take a risk buying used. But I've had good luck so far with any ESC I've purchased used. But with the SMC, you get great support straight from the source and any questions asked, the SMC reps usually only take a day or two for a response and sometimes it comes much sooner. So you either get a full warranty with the SMC, or no warranty with the RSX. Though I believe you can still send it in to Tekin for repair at a cost.

If you want a great speedo for a super affordable price and great service check out RCJUICE and their HobbySTAR Comp. Turbo 120. Their line of Comp 540 motors are stupid excellent. 149 shipped for the speedo, programmer and choice of motor. They look great as well, not that it matters. I know a good amount of fellas running this system and it has worked like a charm. I myself have been using the motors and have been more than happy as they are just that damn good, plus John at RCJUICE provides great service

Have a Tekin RSX along with an 8.5 in my new B64 (and both of my 2wd buggies). I have no complaints and feel that Tekin is one of those, you get what you pay for, products. Their customer service has been top notch every time I have had a question. My only "problem" was when my Hotwire would not operate with my computer. It turned out that the issue was not a Tekin problem, but a problem with my computer. With that said Tekin customer service walked me through a solution, step by step over the phone. I won't own anything other than Tekin because of their excellent customer service!
