Broken esc case
For some reasons, my Hobbywing Xtreme Stock 60A esc case is in bad shape : the screw threads are broken, the clips do not work anymore. The consequent is that the esc keeps opening while driving.
I need to find a way to glue the upper and lower parts of the case but the section is very thin. Any ideas or suggestions to fix it? I was thinking about using shoe goo + wall tape (like for body). Not sure how it supports heat. Thanks |
LRP ESC's in the brushed days used to be taped together at the seam, with a narrow electrical tape.

Either the thin black shipping/strapping tape that carpet guys use for taping their batts to the chassis, or shoe goo/goop. I'd probably go with a thin layer of goop on two opposing sides. Should have you good to go.

I could not find a new one.
Also, have you tried contacting hobbywing or their distributor for a case? |

Not everyone has a 3d printer, although I would love to get one if they become affordable.
Everyone should have one. You will be surprised how handy they can become. |

Actually I'm a mech eng and cad monkey too... so I suppose I am biased...
Having said that though, I find it very easy to design, draw and print... and I'm only just a beginner too. I'm sure if you can tell up from down and your elbow from your bum, then I'm pretty sure you'd be fine. Personally I use Autodesk Inventor and Simplify 3D, however there are many free alternatives out there. |
