Changing can timing. Thoughts and help

So I race indoor clay and I bought a roar legal hobbywing g2 3652 sensors motor in 3800kv. I have left the can timing alone. I'm looking to try and change to power band to be a bit more lininer. I feel like the way it is now it's more of a blunt power curve and I'm looking to extend it.

Can I advance the can timing to reduce a little torture and give me a broader power curve?

After driving my buddies truck with a 4300kv I can notice the difference in how the engines accelerate

Continue driving your buddies and when he's not paying attention sneak in a peek at his throttle exponential. Yeah do that

I don't think timing will really do what you're looking for, normally it doesn't get changed on those 4 pole motors. Speed control settings like punch and the throttle frequency will change how the motor feels quite a bit. See if your buddy knows what those at set at on his.

Also worth noting the 3800 is a 540 motor, but hobbywing sells a 540 and a 550 4300 so you might not be comparing apples to apples.

Here is the 540
