Low starting voltage - Tekin data logs

I have 3 different Tekin ESC's (2 RSX, 1 RS Gen2) in 3 different vehicles, and whenever I check my data logs I never see 8.4 v as my starting voltage. Generally, I see ~8.2 v as the starting voltage when I turn on the cars for the first time.

I have a Hitec x4 AC plus charger, 4 SMC and 1 ProTek battery that says they are fully charged and at 8.4 v. Whenever I randomly check with my HiTec Lipo checker it also says fully charged and 4.2 v per cell. Still whenever I check my data logs I still only see ~8.2 v when I switch on.

I have no fans on anything even the RSX ESCs.

I've tried unplugging my transponder, and tried lowering my BEC voltage to 6 v, but nothing has any affect.

Does anyone else check their starting voltage in their data logs? What do you see?

Where's my .2 v, I want my .2 v! lol

Thanks.

Voltage will drop anytime you put any kind of load on the cells. There is no load when you charge them and should show a slightly higher voltage. Ive never checked my batteries once they are connected though, but i assume thats what is happening

Maybe, but I'm not sure. I don't charge with my ESC plugged in, and I've wondered if it has to do with the capacitor charging up when I plug the battery in. I see some guys charge with alligator clips on the battery leads while the ESC is still plugged in, but that has always made me nervous.

I've read through a bunch of the Tekin data logging and have seen screen shots of cars starting up with 8.4 v, but I've never seen it myself. I don't worry about it in my mod motor vehicles, but the super stock class at my local track is very competitive and I'm looking for every .1 sec I can get.

Thanks for any input!

It could just be that the voltage sensor in the data logger isn't particularly accurate. The one in my Hobbywing regularly reads around 0.5V too low.
