So I just got this radio in last night. To be honest it doesn't need a separate thread from the M12S. It's essentially the same radio from what I've seen so far aside from the customization parts etc.

I am changing to this from a Spektrum DX6R, which I hated (to be fair they seemed to have fixed the issues with this radio with the 2.0 patch). When you compare the quality it isn't even close. I've barely used it and the M12S-RS is easily the nicest radio I've ever used.

Also the casing is exactly the same. I ordered a wrap (M12S) for it and it fit perfectly.
TCrutcher and Holmestead like this.

Does the RS come with the left and right angle plates? if not, can you buy them separately?

No just drop down. Don't know if you can buy them.

MT44 vs. M12s (rs) if it is exact same as 12s, then it will be backwards compatible with version 1 sanwa ssl esc. Mt44 only version 2.

They sell the red and blue drop down parts that include the angle adaptors. I'm not sure where to get the black angle adaptor.

Can you upgrade the battery pack to lipo on the M12s-RS?

You can, but I would recommend you get the m12s li-fe, less chance of fire

You can use most nitro flat receiver packs in it. You will have to set the correct voltage warning level though depending if you are using life or lipo. I have used a flat life pack out of a mugen Mbx7tr and a 5 cell nimh receiver pack in a pinch.

I'm looking at buying one of these and wondering if there is anything you have to buy or mod (other than the battery) to put a Lipo or Life battery in it?

Value Hobby sells a $12 lipo battery that fits it. 2600 MAH, no mod needed, and they still have some available. You will need some very thin foam to keep it in place. I have been racing and it is still at 8 volts. I had a DX4R and my M12S blows it away. I also switched to L/H as well.

got the RS recently. Had the MT44 before (the one with the clip out handle on the top).

to be honest, the extra money for the RS isnt worth it over the MT44.

the smaller form of the MT44 is quite pleasant and its noticeably lighter in the hand vs. the RS.

The functionality of the RS is pretty much identical to the 44, only key one would be more racing modes on the RS (five) rather than 2 for the MT44. You can still set up curve / expo etc to a sophisticated level of adjustment on both.

Some points I've noticed.

- quick model access is more clunky on the RS (you get a nice easy to scroll through direct access list on the MT44)

- everything is an extra on the RS (trigger size / angle / lanyard loop / offset drop down etc - all extra cost)

- no mains socket, no ear phone jack socket, no swappable memory card on the RS.

i tried the RS for left hand option... otherwise would be happy to keep using the MT44.

hey gang,
how long has the Model itself been out? seems like a while I read some posts, long in the tooth, I am looking at the S, but, not so sure, I have a Like New KO Propo Euros 10 D.D.S. version, with the FHSS Green, module and rx, which was the latest and greatest, I have the optional limited edition drop down wheel, aluminum purple screws blah blah blah, only say that as I have , what 400 plus, the drop down wheel was a decent buck I remember, think they were one of the first to do it? I could be wrong
Bottom line, I'm trying to justify selling a like new radio for god knows what, it has maybe 20 hours on it, literally... thats it, looks BRAND NEW!!!
So, is it really that much a difference, to justify a 500 radio, that seems like its at there end of its life, as per some posts, if its the 6th version, or so, id say yea, its about there....

Thanks
