Issue with Hobbywing 120 V2.1 ESC
#1

Hey guys,
I have the hobby wing 120A V2.1 ESC in my rc10 classic car with the eco power motor. I'm having issues that I cannot get the ESC have the forward/reverse with brake. The only thing this ESC can do is go forward. I've tried to set the ESC for that mode and sometimes after i programmed it, when I turn it back on, it would just go WOT without touching the transmitter. Not sure what's going on. I have a futaba 4PV transmitter. Maybe I am missing something.

Tried to recalibrate. I must be doing something wrong or the instructions are so poorly written that I'm not doing it right. When setting the 3 points, it says to turn off and on the ESC during neutral and do the same thing again for forward and reverse? When I do that for forward, the motor runs as soon as I turn on the ESC. I'm confused.

I used the v2.1 for two years straight and it was the most consistent Esc I've ever used. Had two
When the motor runs automatically that's usually a receiver /calibration issue
I take you've put it in setup mode, from memory, neutral, hit set, full throttle, hit set, full brake, hit set. Done
This is is the same for probably most Esc's on the market.

Also try bind your radio with your receiver again. From memory, cheap radios don't have protection to prevent from your car running if radio is off

Just tried your instructions. Doesn't seem to work. Definitely can't figure this out.
When I was in program mode, I picked the forward/reverse with brake. Then, I turned off power. Turn it back on holding the set button and wait for the first red flash and let go so I could set the end points. It still continues to flash and when I hit the set button for the neutral, it turns green back in program mode.
Also, even with the forward/reverse brake, I double click the trigger and it doesn't go in reverse.

Are you using any anti lock brake type features in the radio? I have seen this keep the esc from calibrating.
