Transmitters ?
So been thinking about getting the m12, or futaba 4px, or dx6r.... what's everyone else liking or things I should know between these 3.. kinda leaning towards the 4px! Want to here some opinions before dropping that kinda cash on a radio.

In the Radio & Electronics thread you'll see individual threads for those radios...
Radio and Electronics - R/C Tech Forums I myself like the Hitec Lynx, very good pricing on it and the receivers are only $30-$40 at the most and the radio is very user friendly and feels lite in the hand while on driverstand |

IMO these radios are all so close in spec that it comes down to user preference above all else. If a hobby shop has all three trry to handle and hold them all.

although this linked thread is a bit dated, it might help address some key points of consideration as you make your selection:
Which surface radio system is the best? <Updated 24-DEC-2014> - Radios & Servos @ URC Forums I have recently discovered that some folks are running into problems with the Lynx Rx's where they tend to overheat and glitch with prolonged use. Probably not a good choice for someone running really long mains in nitro. Arguably one of the most cost effective "luxury" options is Graupner, I've been running the X-8N for a little over a year now and I have no complaints with it: REVIEW: Graupner X-8N HoTT (4ch) 2.4Ghz Radio System - Radios & Servos @ URC Forums They have since released the X-8E which is even better, kinda wished I held out and bought that system instead! Other high end systems that I've owned and have left me disappointed are Radiopost and KO Propo: REVIEW: Radiopost TS401 (4ch Radio System) - Radios & Servos @ URC Forums REVIEW: KO Propo EX-1 and EX-2 (K.I.Y.) - Radios & Servos @ URC Forums If I was only limited to the 3 choices given in the OP, I would probably go Futaba if it were me. |
My airtronics have always been super good for me
|
i have had all three
First choice is the 4PX its lighter than the M12 is easier to scroll through menus and the screen resolution is much sharper. M12 is nice just felt bulky using it, but it worked well. DX6R never worked right and it got sent back. The radio maybe nice some day but it has too many issues currently to even consider. |
BRSracing summed it up. I'll add that Sanwa RX's are spendy compared to $37 ones you can get for the 4PX, along with the 4PX menu screens being easier to navigate, IMO.
I ran my 4PX for the first time coming from a DX4R this weekend, hands down a better feel, IMO. DX6R, never held one. A guy next to me on the driver stand was using one in a qualifier. He didn't finish the race due to "radio issues". I've run, and supported Spektrum radios on this forum for years, but the 6R is simply something I would not recommend at this point. Horizons top Pros don't even seem to run it, that says something.. |
