10s-12s Motor with 6s battery?

is this ok?
10s-12s Motor with 6s battery
I have a very different purpose for this. it will not be used with any RC. I have read on another forum someone saying a 4s battery will be ok with a 6s motor. Seems ok, the voltage gap isint that huge, and DC motors usually work on a wide range of voltages, But, paring the 6s battery with a 10s-12s motor is about half the recommended.. will the motor still run?

I think it should be fine. I run 4s on 8s motors all the time with no issues. You will only get half the rpm.

thanks tc4... with that, i'm assuming it drops the torque to about half too right
