Tekin Pres. I have a rx 8 in my DR 10 with a 3.5 motor 72 sper 27 pin..... setting up rx 8 with little reverse for turning around and it goes from forward to reverse in the middle of breaking. can you Please tell me what settings I should be running for Drag racing ? Thanks....

Hi guys! I’m planning to buy a RX8 gen 3 and the only differences I found compare with the gen 2 are:

max amps 210 vs 300
BEC Amps 7 vs 8
different solder posts

is there any other mayor difference that worth buying the 3rd gen instead of the second gen?

which are the advantages of 1 more amp in BEC?

thanks!

Reverse should not ever come on during braking. If you are set to reverse delay perhaps something odd is happening or you are double pumping the brakes. You can turn the reverse delay time up and see if that helps.

Sounds like it might have been set accidentally to FWD/REV instead of FWD/BRK/REV

That would be super bad in a drag setup, or any setup really other than a crawler....

As a child, we could only dream of such models

YEP I went through 2 spers. had to go in and change my set up to forward only and change the timing ....NOW no Coging and no going 40 mph into reverse. yes we are having fun now LOL

Hoping this is the right place to get some help. I have an RX8 Gen 3 in my TLR XE. Last night I accidentally connected the battery in reverse. I did not power it on but it did spark and possibly release a tiny bit of smoke (not sure if the smoke was from the spark or actually from the ESC). I have not yet taken it apart to see if I notice any damage (doing that in a few). After quickly realizing my mistake I did reconnect the battery the correct way and the ESC functioned but I decided not to risk racing my main for a $20 club race and ruining my motor, battery, and ESC. What are the chances nothing is wrong or that it is something I can fix, or am I going to need to send it in/get a new one?

Any help is greatly appreciated. This is the only thing that keeps me sane in the currently worldly situation.

Chances are its done. You'll pretty much have to plug it in and see if it works, I've seen some work after this but most are done and need to be sent in for repair/replacement.

it did work I was just worried it would cause damage to my battery or motor if something was wrong.

Has anyone run across LED 3 and 4 flashing? Which results in no forward while this is happening? Seems to self reset then runs for a few and does the same thing

This is a short circuit warning straight from the manual. Check all your wiring connections. Look for wires touching, solder joints contacting another post.

According to Tekin this morning they said that "snake eyes" on the outsides 1,2 and 6,7 is short. She stated she did not know what 3 and 4 would be. She suggested me resoldering all my connections and try it again.

we will see....I need to get motor bearings also.

My Bad. I recognized the code and checked it against the manual I had on my computer but its a manual for original RX8. Its listed in the older RX8 manual so may not be applicable to the Gen3.
