Motor shimming

Hello all,

I have a Team Powers actinium and I realized the play is about 2mm which Is much more then any other motor I have owned. What effect would this have? What type of shims to use? And where to buy?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you

Something like this

Or buy them in bulk of different sizes - ie: look in this list

After trying to find these washers, at a reasonable price, for a while, I stumbled on the search term "axle spacer". This will get you to many slot car retailers who sell lots of 1/8" axle spacers at many thicknesses. Really cheap compared to RC car vendors.

Where did you find stuff "at a reasonable price?"

I bought a box of brushed motor parts from someone back in the day and it came with a armature tube about half full of shims. Equivalent to about half a shot glass full. At the prices I see today that looks like around $500 of shims. That's ridiculous. They weren't anywhere near as expensive as that back then.
