SR3520 - non-issue - that's a DSM2 protocol rx (I know, you didn't ask about that one - but since it's older like the SR300, I figured that I might as well list it).

SR310 - non-issue, it's a DSMR protocol rx.

Hope that help clears up the confusion.

I got to fondle a 6R at the track Friday night... I do like how the radio feels. The steering wheel was angled to allow me to hold the radio in towards my body and the wheel was outwards allowing a comfortable feel...
I had read earlier that day about the 5R coming out in spring for $200 less and thought that could work for me... (I was skeptical about the need for an android touch screen with a bunch of apps that I would not use), so the 5R got added to my wish list.

I did a little reading on the Spectrum website and did some comparing between the 2 radios and I put a short list together... deal breaker on the 5R???--->>> does not come with the smaller wheel, does not come with the Li-lon batts or the charging base, only has 1 receiver, and the biggest item to me is it does not include the multiple steering wheel angle settings...?
So how much more would I spend on the 5R for the steering wheel adjustments, Large handle, smaller steering wheel and cam???
Or do I buy the 6R for $200 more and sell one of the receivers for $50??

I currently have a 3R... I keep it simple using some steering expo, servo speed, and brake adjustments... (Having 250 model memory, telemetry, voice activated alert, are not items that sell a radio to me...)

The 5R has THE SAME superb ergonomics as the 6R, you just need to spend a few dollars to get there.

The cost to upgrade the 5R to the same adjustability of the 6R is less than $20:

6R Angle Wedges: $3.99
6R Smaller Wheel: $10.99
6R Wheel Cams: $3.99

The only major difference is the battery system. It is not known yet if both the battery and charging cradle from the 6R will be useable on the 5R. If they are, purchasing both the battery and the cradle will set you back about $50 total.

so in the end, to make the 5R just as comfortable & customizable as the 6R you tried, you're only looking at an additional $18.97, unless you want to use a smaller or larger grip than what is included (which from my experience with the 6R, most people use the medium grip), in which case you're looking at an extra $19.99.

so either way, you're still saving $150 or more off the cost of the 6R by going with the 5R.

In the end, its up to you.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Android features of the 6R, but I'm really liking the 5R. Might be time to replace the DX3R Pro. It's been a great radio.

I bought used DX6R on here, I like the larger wheel combined with larger angle wheel cam. I like having more movement and the wheel not being as touchy. I have also have a 4R, bought the 6R because I wanted improved ergonomics. My wrist and fingers were going numb after 4 minutes, not happening with the 6R improved ergonomics. If the 5R would have been available for a decent price I would have bought it, I don't need the android screen either. However if you listen to music while racing or at the track it will play music.

Its really that much better? Seems to me they made compromises in ergonomics to be able to fit that huge touch screen. In fact I think it looks clunky/ugly as hell but I have yet to hold one. Is it just the fact the wheel has more travel/better angle that sold you or is it really that much easier to hold in your hand? I get the impression it would be a bit more uncomfortable than the 4R and heavier. Certainly not to justify another $300 for me, but I love my 4R and feels great in my hand.
