Can you destroy a sensor port?

I have noticed a light deadplay on the sensor port. Since i have a skyrc motor with a hobbywing sensor cable, the fit is not too good. Its tight. I tried to get it out, and while i was pulling it (With force) i noticed that the sensor port was also moving a bit. Is it normal?

the plastic part on the sensor board that covers the pins might have pulled away from the board. You can probably push it back into place. I had a viper motor that would do that.

Thanks for the answer, but since then i have checked it, because it has adjustable timing. I took off the covering plate, and both sensor ports were rock solid. Still a mistery what caused the deadplay. Probably the sensor board, but it was like 0,3 mm maximum, which should be acceptable for a plasticcy material. By the way i highly doubt it would go bad just because i plugged and pulled it out 3 times.
