m11 ?

ok guys I have a few questions that I could use some help with. I have a m11 with a spectrum dsm system that I have been using but with the cars space for electronics getting smaller I don't have much room for the esc and the rec. what I am wanting to know is do they make a newer module for the m11 that will allow me to use the newer smaller rec or do I need to look into getting a new radio all together? If a new radio is the way to go what one?
thanks for any and all help

There are no new developments in the M11 platform. The m11 was replaced by the M11x which was replaced by the M12 which was replaced by the M12s. The M11 is a very old platform. Sorry

You could try swapping the Spektrum module and receiver for the Airtronics/sanwa module and receiver "93724 and 92724" Which is Fhss-2 platform. Not sure how much space this setup would save you.

Personally I would consider upgrading your radio. Sanwa have some great mid range radios right now such as the MT-S, MT-4S or the MT-44. Either would be a worthy upgrade to the M11. Alternatively you could either go for the flagship M12S or even find a good second hand M12. You will feel a difference from the newer lower latency radios.

ok if I do go with a newer radio like the m12 will the new system still work with the older sr3000 rec that I have in my crawlers or would I need to replace all of my rec?

The m12 will only work with Sanwa/airtronics receivers.

Ok one last question. Is the m12 a three channel radio or is it only a two?

I just switched from the M11 to a Futaba 4PV and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I love the 4PV and feel much more connected to the car. It doesn't hurt that it's half the weight. Also the $37 Futaba receivers work well with the system if you don't need telemetry.

Is this receiver small enough?
http://www.spektrumrc.com/products/d...prodid=spm1210
SR3500 from Spektrum
The new radio may have more adjustments, but a M12 will cost you 500$. In my opinion m11 is an older radio, and i have been using it still. But solid. If you are having some entry level spektrum like Dx2 dx3(lower end) then may worth a upgrade.

You can get a brand new m12 for around $369 the m12s is around $500 and up but if you don't get all new receivers that are faster ones then pointless to spend the extra as features are the same
