best esc for 2.5t or 3.5t
looking for the best esc to run 2s 2.5 or 3.5t that will deliver good power but not bad voltage drop
|
One of the few esc's willing to legitimately state "no motor limit": https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-or...i65128/p276946
Out of curiosity, a 2.5 on 2s - what's it for? |

A friend ran a MMp on 2s with a 3.5 for ~3min before it thermaled. It made an f1 car wheely down the backstraight |

Ah, that makes sense then. If you're worried about voltage drop to the Rx during such a hard throttle punch, you could always bypass the ESC and run an external BEC unit.

On 2s? Your looking at a full 1/8 esc with fan. rx8, MMx, etc.

To my knowledge, the high end esc's can handle low T motors (2.5-3.5t)such as the tekin RSX, LRP Flow Works Team, Hobbywing XR10, Orion Vortex R10.1, ETC... As far a voltage drop, just make sure you run a battery than can handle the power surge. i.e. a 100C battery.

I know this thread is old but I have that issue with my set up. (2.5t motor in touring car) it often stutters as if it's not sensored when accelerating. Is that the purpose of hooking up an external bec?

Throttle stutter only or complete rx-brownout, i.e. you lose steering at the same time? If it's a complete brownout, then yes, the external BEC will likely fix it. Throttle stutter only tends to indicate the motor isn't getting enough power in which case (assuming an adequate ESC), an under-spec'd (and probably soon to be puffed) battery is where I'd look at first.

I would give this esc a try. I used it in my 1/8 with no issues. The adjustable bec and data logging are nice too. It's designed for smooth powerful starts. MAMBA X, 25.2V WP ESC, 8A PEAK BEC, DATALOGGING
