There is a special receiver case for 482, part number 107A41302A. If you need something that will fit standard receiver box, 472/471 is the way to go.

My main concern though is if the 482 receiver will fit in most radio boxes or will I need a different reciever?
I'm not sure what you're putting the rx in but I have the 482 and it fits in the tekno eb48 as well as the mbx7r radio tray. Hope that helps. If you like, I can give you measurements if need be.

It will fit, just how you position it

Thanks. Sounds like it should fit in most cars then. Now I am just waiting till it's available.

Got one today:

Only thing I can say at this point is that it feels much better than my old RTR radio, but that was expected :-).

I'm going to pair it with Super Vortex Zero Gen2 and see how well they work together...

I was going to ask the same question, but then I have noticed that it is listed as "coming soon" on their japanese pages. So I assume that they are not selling it yet.

This is very tempting.. The lack of service since the distributor change is deafening and I'm not sure I will buy unless that changes.

Just upgrade your firmware right away. Mine came with 1.01.03, while the current one is 1.01.09. With the original firmware, assignment to SW1 and SW2 didn't work (among some other things).

Don't worry, the procedure doesn't require any specific software. You just need to copy the new firmware to Micro SD card, into a specific directory. Then you insert the card into the transmitter, and start update procedure from the menu. It is actually quite simple procedure, and it works perfectly.

I wasn't able to find any. The one that came with the receiver could have a bit better translation to English, but it is OK (readable).

Is there anything specific you are looking for? I can take a picture of that page (but please don't ask me to take picture of all pages ;-)).

After a day with the radio, I'm pleased:
  • SSL with Super Vortex Gen2 through RX-482 is working. This was the main reason why I bought it.
  • Spektrum servo is running in SHR mode
  • ob1 light controller can be controlled through AUX2 (CH4), though I can only turn lights on/off (it can't really read the SSL channel for brake/reverse lights). I've set the AUX2 channel to POINT mode, assigned it to SW2, PUSH mode.
  • Telemetry is receiving all the data except motor temp, because it doesn't have the sensor.
  • Backlight is a very neat feature
  • Can't complain about how it feels

I'm glad that I haven't bought DX6R from Spektrum, because I would pay almost twice as much for the radio, and I wouldn't get even close to the functionality I get with SSV G2.
