13 awg wire?
 

Is it ok to use 13awg wire for an ebuggy? Have a chassis ready to go but am short on wire. Local hobby shop only has 13awg. It's a tekin rx8 on 4s

I would not use it from the battery to the esc, no way. I use 10 gauge for that. Maybe to the motor would be okay, but even then 12 gauge is the minimum for me.

That's what I was thinking but the tekin wires that come with esc are 12. Was going to use 13 from motor to esc. I have 10 on my other car from battery to esc but 12 from motor to esc.

Also I would swap it out on monday when I can get some bigger wire

ESC to motor involves three wires, so the load is spread out more. I am thinking of going 10 gauge to the motor as well, to give it all the juice it wants!!! Remember, a wire is like a water hose, the bigger the more juice flows through it, fact. Never run a big wire to a small wire, and then to a big wire, bad mojo.
