Odd issue when trying to charge a 4s lipo

I just picked up a couple of new packs and one of them refuses to charge. I checked the individual cell voltages and all four are at 3.76v. When checked at the main connector I get 15.04v. When I go to charge, or discharge it using my charger it immediately errors out and says "Invalid cell count" All my other packs charge normally. Anyone had that issue? Or have an idea of what might be causing it? The vendor is sending me a new pack, but I'm just curious.

What charger are you using? What mode are you charging? Did you plug the balance plug in the balance port? Make sure your settings in your charger is correct, if you can set charge profiles, make sure that you enable 4 cell charging.

The settings are correct, and I did have the balance plug plugged in. The charger is a Revolectrix Cellpro 6. I can plug any of my other packs into the same port, not change anything, and it works fine.

Maybe the plugs on that particular battery aren't making all the connections. A bent pin or etc. in the connector could be the problem.

I've had this same issue more than once, with the same charger. My teamate has similar issues with his cellpro as well. We recently tried to narrow the issue down, and now both think it may be an issue with the parallel board. I'm going to order a new one this weekend, hopefully this resolves the problem.

Can you charge the pack on any of the other spots in the board? When I have the issue, I just move a spot and it usually charges properly.

No, it won't charge in any position. My other packs will charge in all the positions. I also tried the bad pack on a buddies HiTec charger today, and it wouldn't charge it either. I'll check the pins in the balance plug next. That could be an easy issue to fix.

The 4s lipo voltage is normal, maybe you can try to use a balance to charge it. If it still error, your battery may broken.

Charger not set for 4s pack, ck ur settings. Ck your balancing board is it on the correct slot? Maybe your balancing bus is bad. If voltage on each cell 4s, believe the bus is ok. Its your charger setup.
