Charger help
 

I am looking for a new charger but really have no knowledge on the subject. I have an old thunder a16 that does a good job but want to move up. I wanted a dual so started looking at the onyx 245 but feel its under powered. I will be charging 2s or 3c lipo and 5000mah or greater. Have read good things about hitec x2 ultima dual but that is DC/DC. I would like to have AC/DC as it seems easier. Im wanting to stay around $150 any suggestions? is it worth spending more on a charger like hyperion EOS 730i net3?

Im in the same boat..been looking for a stronger charger..looks like I will be going with Reaktor with a dc power supply or a Hitek x1 pro with a dc power supply
.. but the Hitek docks right on top of it.s power supply to keep everything nice and clean...neithet charger is dual but you can get a parallel cjarging board and do 2 lipos at once not sure how that works...Im still trying to figure this stuff out..

I recommend the Hobby King Reaktor charger, the 300 watt model from their East coast supplier, for around $65. You will also need a 25 amp power supply. I would get the HP750 watt computer power supply off Ebay for $40, that has been converted for rc use. I am modding my own for around $25 total, very easy to do if you have a decent soldering station and some skills. They have 62 amps and can power two of these chargers for later on. That way you can expand your system. No one else offers this much power for this price.

Ive been running a dynamite passport ultra Duo, and Absolutely love it. I can plug in to AC, or charge from my truck. Ive had it for about 3 years now. if you can find a decent used one, jump on it

Simply cant go wrong with the Reaktors. Grab two or three for the budget your looking at. When I was finally ready to purchase mine they had the 250w version on sale for 32$ so I grabbed two of them rather then paying 65$ each for two of the 300w. I have been parallel charging to my hearts content with both of them. Funnies thing about it, I bought a 750w power supply, and the two reaktors, for less than the price of one of my previous Thunder Power chargers. Heck, I actually sold the TP chargers for the same price I bought the Reaktors for and it was an upgrade!

You can do 10 amps on the Reaktor 250 and 20 amps on the 300. I have run my 300 at 12 amps and it charges fast. These are the real deal.

I just bought a 206B Junsi charger after screwing up my Reaktor 300. That was a costly mistake, but a good excuse to get the real deal instead. The Reaktors are copies of the Junsi. I still have a 250 Reaktor, and will keep using it for my 2s batteries. I really need a 20 amp capable charger for 4s batteries as I charge around 12 amps, hence the Junsi 206B.

vote here for DC with a power supply. The AC/DC chargers are prone to heat. The external power supply will also supply Clean power. I have run a 47 amp ebay "Strick" HP server power supply for 7 years now - wrapped in vinyl carbon. Power supply was about $45 shipped.

I have had a hitec x4 DC for the past 5 years or so - only 6amps per channel. Solid and charger 4x 4s packs for my FE boat over and over. going to move to a iCharger 306B - 30amps... about $160 shipped. not too shabby.

OK i'm going to prolly go with the Reaktor 300...now anyone have a power supply to sell or instructions on how to make one?

The Hitec X1 Pro - ePowerbox Power Supply Combo would be a good choice at $100.00.
