Help with ESC problem
Hello everyone. I have 2 castle sidewinder SCT ESCs and they are both experiencing the same problem.
They function fine, they perform perfectly fine with ON. Problem is, that they dont always turn ON. I have to try multiple times, pushing the switch back and forth until the lights finally turn on and the esc starts working. Yesterday I kept on trying for 10 mins and one ESC just wouldnt turn ON. Why am i experiencing this problem, and how can i fix it?? Again, when ON they work just fine, but turning them ON seems to be developing into a problem. |
Make sure your throttle trim is at zero. The esc won't turn on if it no at zero.

If that were the case then why would it turn on after multiple attempt? As in 1/15 attempts it works maybe??
And i will troubleshoot this when i get home ... just wondering what else could be causing this in case throttle trim is not the issue... |
My Castle Creations ESC starts vibrating the motor; with a melody, when turned on. Get a multimeter and test the switch circuit. Switches do wear out.
If you find the switches are bad...snip them off and solder the on/off switch's red and black wires leads together for the time being. |
Those switches do not like dirt. Either replace them or just solder the two input wires together.

So if i cut off the switch, and just solder the two wires (red/black) together, it'll complete the circuit? Meaning itll always be ON? This could be useful ... |

I just did this ...
I hope this wont cause any problems in the long run? Since the battery is only 2s, im not as afraid plugging it in as I wouldve been with a 6s. Haha |
