LiPo Replacement
Hi guys,
I have a few questions about LiPo batteries. I have two 5600mah nanotech batteries. They always get balance charged and put into storage. They get used roughly every second weekend and each get about 5 charges on that weekend. they are roughly 1 year old so I would say each battery has between 125-150cycles. Both batteries seem to be doing ok still. How long do batteries last? What are the signs/indicators for replacing batteries? Would I be loosing power (speed) due to old batteries? Is there an easy way to test a LiPo? Cheers Ryan |
1. That will depend on how you use them. ie, how hard you discharge them or how low you discharge them. Less amp draw and not letting them get below 3.4v per cell will lengthen their lifespan.
2. Old packs will take less mAh to full charge. Internal resistance will get higher over time. 3. Yes, you could loose power due to old batteries that are getting bad. 4. I don't know of any kind of testing except for checking the internal resistance that some chargers have. |
