Default Charging a 1s lipo

Just wondering how to charge a 1s lipo on my Hyperion 720i or a 615i. the chargers looking for a balance connector, any input? What am I overlooking?

1) Connect the battery to the charger.

2) Press the button to start charging

3) Ignore the "No balancer" message

Well crap.... I feel like an idiot now. I didn't even try to push start to pass that no balancer message....

There is only one cell so there is nothing to balance .

Yes I realize that. I didn't know how to make the charger not look for the balance plug.

Of all the batteries. You got the easiest one to charge. lollllllll !!!!! Set to 1Slipo, mah, then start.

Lol tell me about it. I was starting to get pissed at this charger. I knew it had to be something simple but for the life of me I couldn't figure out why the damned thing insisted on telling me there was no balancer found. Sheer confusion for a few minutes...

The above is correct for basic charging, but there are possible advantages to hooking up the balancer even when charging one cell with your Hyperions. And some other good chargers, PowerLabs I believe for example.

Correct the pack doesn't need balancing, but the balancer circuitry has more accurate Voltage reading capability, and the extra control and safety features of the firmware/software is written to work with those readings.

I'm fairly sure TVC only works with the balancer connected. TCS may not either, can't remember. The pack Voltage after charge is typically only 4.18 instead of the 4.2V target (or other TVC setting) without the balancer connected. At least with many versions of the firmware, if not all.
